Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a Senior Software Engineer in Massachusetts to design and implement advanced features and systems. You will translate requirements into execution plans, write reliable production code, and help shape strategic initiatives.

You will mentor engineers, drive quality through testing, and collaborate across product, design, PM, and other teams to align on goals and outcomes.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in CS, software engineering, or equivalent.
Typically 8+ years of professional software engineering experience.
Led end-to-end outcomes for significant features or systems.
Collaborated with product, project management, design and other partners.
Proficient in at least one modern programming language and ecosystem.
Strong communication with stakeholders and mentoring ability.
Experience with developer tools, CI/CD, automation, and AI tools.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field; or a combination of education and experience that provides the skills and abilities to perform the role effectively.
Typically 8+ years of professional software engineering experience (or equivalent experience).
Demonstrated experience leading end-to-end outcomes for significant features or systems, including design, implementation, testing, deployment, and ongoing support.
Experience working in a collaborative, cross-functional environment with product, project management, design, and other partner teams.
Proficiency in at least one modern programming language and ecosystem, writing reliable and scalable production code, tests, and observability features to ensure quality.
Ability to communicate clearly with stakeholders, collaborate across teams, and mentor or influence other Engineers.
Experience using and improving developer tools, CI/CD, automation, and AI tools with high quality results.
