Madhive is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to help build and improve the systems powering our AdTech platform. The role spans backend and client-facing features, with collaboration across the stack to ship reliable, well-tested software.

Ideal candidates have hands-on AdTech experience, distributed systems knowledge, and strong backend skills (Golang) with React on the frontend. This hybrid role requires 2–3 days per week at Madhive HQ in NYC.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of full-stack engineering experience.
• AdTech background with bidding, inventory, and supply systems.
• Experience with distributed systems and streaming (Kafka or similar).
• Backend: Golang preferred; other modern backend languages OK.
• Frontend: React or similar.
• Familiarity with monitoring tools (Looker, OpenTelemetry, New Relic).
• Strong problem solver for high-throughput, low-latency systems.

We’re looking for a Senior Software Engineer with experience in AdTech to join our Engineering team at Madhive. This person will help build and improve the systems that power our advertising platform, with work spanning both backend and client-facing features. You’ll work closely with engineers across the stack to ship reliable, well-tested software and contribute to the quality and evolution of our technology. This role is ideal for someone with hands‑on experience in AdTech and who wants to deepen their impact in a fast-moving environment. This is a hybrid role, working 2-3 days a week at Madhive HQ in the Financial District of New York City.

What you’ll do

• Build and maintain features across our frontend and backend systems, with a strong emphasis on clean, robust, maintainable code.
• Contribute to the design and implementation of user interfaces that give teams and clients strong visibility into system behavior and performance.
• Support distributed backend systems with a focus on data accuracy, system reliability, and operational excellence.
• Collaborate with teammates to enhance observability and monitoring through dashboards, alerts, and instrumentation.
• Contribute to the design, implementation, and processing of AdTech-scale data pipelines and ML solutions.
• Write comprehensive tests (unit, integration, end-to-end) and contribute to ongoing improvements in tooling, coverage, and quality.
• Participate in meaningful code reviews, share feedback, and help drive alignment on technical decisions.
• Collaborate with Product and Engineering partners to scope projects, refine requirements, and consistently deliver features on time.

Who you are

• 5+ years of experience as a full-stack engineer working with modern frontend and backend technologies.
• Background in AdTech, including hands‑on experience with bidding systems, inventory, supply, and related systems.
• Experience with distributed systems, including Kafka or similar streaming technologies.
• Excellent backend development skills – ideally using Golang, but experience with any modern backend language is welcome.
• Strong experience with React or a comparable frontend framework preferred.
• Familiarity with observability and monitoring tools such as Looker, OpenTelemetry, Centry, or New Relic.
• A problem solver who enjoys working with high-throughput, low‑latency production systems at scale.
• A strong interest in data science and machine learning concepts, or hands‑on experience with high-throughput, AdTech‑scale data solutions.
• Comfortable working with automated testing frameworks and contributing to an overall testing culture.
• Strong communicator who works well with cross‑functional teams and enjoys solving complex problems in a collaborative environment.
• A thoughtful engineer who values reliability, usability, and building things the right way.

The approximate compensation range for this position is $190,000-$220,000. The actual offer, reflecting the total compensation package and benefits, will be determined by a number of factors, including the applicant's experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity among our team.
