Akamai Technologies, Inc. is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for Cambridge, MA (remote allowed from anywhere in the United States).

The role focuses on building and operating systems for model validation, quantization, and safety, including guardrails, routing, and evaluation frameworks. Requirements include a Master’s degree and 1 year of related experience, with strong skills in TCP/IP, HTTP/HTTPS, DNS, Linux, Python, and web debugging.

• 1 year of engineering experience in the offered role or closely related role.
• Experience with TCP/IP, HTTP/HTTPS, DNS; Linux Bash/Shell; Python scripting; Web performance and caching troubleshooting; SSL/TLS & secure web delivery.

Responsabilités

• Build and operate model validation pipelines and security scanning for quality, correctness and vulnerabilities.
• Implement quantization, pruning and optimization to reduce model footprint and improve latency across hardware.
• Design guardrails and content-safety systems to enforce policies and mitigate jail breaking and prompt injection risks.
• Develop model routing and prompt management infra to support intelligent request handling across variants and A/B testing.

Job Description:

Akamai Technologies, Inc. is hiring for the following role in Cambridge, MA (multiple openings): Senior Software Engineer Building and operating systems responsible for model validation, quantization, and safety across the organization. Developing and maintaining model validation and security scanning pipelines that assess models for quality, correctness, and vulnerabilities prior to deployment. Implementing quantization, pruning, and other optimization techniques to reduce model footprint and improve inference latency across diverse hardware configurations. Building guardrail and content safety systems that enforce compliance policies and mitigate risks such as jail breaking and prompt injection. Designing model routing and prompt management infrastructure that supports intelligent request handling across model variants. Contributing to model evaluation frameworks that measure accuracy, performance, and safety metrics across the model lifecycle. Telecommuting permitted from anywhere within the United States. Required Qualification:

Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Master Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Data Engineering, Data Science, Data Analytics, Business Analytics and Project Management, or Analytics, and one (1) year of experience in the job offered or closely related engineering role.

Compensation

Akamai is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. For US based candidates only - the base salary for this position ranges from $138237 - $218600/year; a candidate’s salary is determined by various factors including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and location. Compensation for candidates outside the US will vary. The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of annual bonus or incentives, equity awards and an Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP).
