Job summary

Ethoca, a Mastercard company, is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join a cross-functional team building scalable products for global markets. You will own delivery tasks across design, dev, test, deployment, and documentation to meet business needs.

The ideal candidate has 7+ years of software engineering experience, strong Java/Python/JavaScript skills, and hands-on automation framework expertise, including CI/CD and modern testing tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline.
• 7+ years of experience in Software Engineering with exposure to the entire SDLC.
• Strong programming skills in Java, Python, and JavaScript.
• Experience building automation frameworks from the ground up.
• Experience with REST APIs, microservices, event-driven architectures, and cloud-native apps.
• Proficient with CI/CD pipelines (GitLab, Jenkins, GitHub Actions).
• Experience with automation tools: Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, Rest Assured, Postman.
• Strong SQL/data analysis and validation skills.

Responsibilities

• Participate in team prioritisation discussions with Product/Business stakeholders.
• Estimate and own delivery tasks (dev, test, deployment, configuration, documentation).
• Drive code/design/process trade-off discussions within the team.
• Report status and manage risks in the primary application/service.
• Drive integration of services focusing on customer journey and experience.
• Perform demos/acceptance discussions with Product owners.
• Develop understanding of end-to-end architecture and dependencies.
• Mentor and guide new and less-experienced team members.
• Design, develop, and maintain scalable automated validation frameworks.
• Review test architecture, automation code, and quality solutions.
• Drive shift-left quality practices.
• Participate in design reviews and provide quality-focused recommendations.

The ideal candidate should be proficient in entire SDLC including automation and product analysis. Technical Responsibilities

• Participate in team prioritisation discussions with Product/Businessstakeholders.

• Mentor and guide new and less-experienced team members.

Test Automation & Framework Development

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable automated validation frameworks.

Engineering Excellence

• Review test architecture, automation code, and quality solutions.
• Drive shift-left quality practices.
• Participate in design reviews and provide quality-focused recommendations during architecture discussions.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline.
• 7+ years of experience in Software Engineering with exposure to entire SDLC.
• Strong programming skills in one or more languages such as Java, Python, JavaScript.
• Experience building automation frameworks from the ground up.
