Job summary

Donatech Corporation in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, seeks an embedded Linux software engineer to design, implement and support Linux-based systems for diverse hardware platforms. You will work in an Agile team to develop device drivers, bootloaders, and BSP components, and participate in root cause analysis, build tooling and integration efforts.

The role requires strong C/C++, scripting (Bash and Python), experience with embedded Linux drivers, board bring-up, and collaboration across teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in STEM and 5 years of relevant experience or advanced degree with 3+ years of experience
• In the absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience is required
• At least 3 years of professional experience with embedded Linux device drivers
• Proficiency with embedded C/C++
• Experience with scripting languages (Bash and Python)
• Experience with board bring-up and target hardware integration
• Experience with debugging and root cause investigations using hardware schematics and tools like logic analyzers and Wireshark

Responsibilities

• Adhere to applicable client engineering development and quality processes, procedures, instructions and guidelines

Job description

Position would require the candidate to be a W2 employee of Donatech. US Citizenship Required.

• Adhere to all applicable client Engineering Development and Quality processes, procedures, instructions and guidelines
• Participate in Agile team meetings and planning activities, as required to support programs covered by this work plan
• Contribute to the design, coding, testing, delivery and ongoing support for embedded Linux software systems in areas such as build toolchain, kernel, root filesystem, bootloader, device drivers, and BSP for a wide variety of hardware boards
• Participate in root cause analysis and resolution of complex hardware-software issues.
• Management of change request and task assignments through Jira

Qualifications You Must Have:

• Bachelor’s degree (Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM)) and 5 years of prior relevant experience OR
• Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience OR In absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience is required
• A minimum of 3 years professional experience with embedded Linux device drivers
• Proficiency with embedded C/C++
• Experience with scripting languages (Bash and Python)
• Experience with board bring-up and target hardware integration
• Experience with debugging and root cause investigations using hardware schematics and tools such as logic analyzer and Wireshark
