Job summary

Base-2 Solutions is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to design and implement a data-centric architecture leveraging cloud computing, AI/ML, and cross-domain transfer systems in a mission-driven environment.

You will develop and maintain software solutions using C#, API development, and ETL processes, collaborating across disciplines to ensure reliable, scalable systems and secure access to biometric resources in an on-site setting at Bethesda, MD.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree with 8+ years of relevant experience or Master's Degree with 6+ years of relevant experience.
• Proficiency in C# programming and API development.
• Knowledge of SQL Server, ETL processes, and application-level security.
• Hands-on experience with microservices and logging systems.

Responsibilities

• Work in a DevSecOps environment to ensure biometric systems and data availability for end users.
• Lead integration, maintenance, and monitoring of software systems for constant resource availability.
• Design, implement, and enhance complex software systems including analytics and real-time processing.
• Collaborate with Systems Engineers, Software Engineers, Architects, and Ops teams for AFEM capabilities.
• Participate in test, staging, and production deployments ensuring reliability and performance.
• Develop and maintain applications using C# with API development and ETL processes.
• Implement enterprise search capabilities such as Elasticsearch.
• Utilize DevOps tools like GitLab or Jenkins for CI/CD.
• Monitor automated tests and resolve system abnormalities.

Position Summary

Base-2 Solutions is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to support the design and implementation of a data-centric architecture leveraging cloud computing, artificial intelligence, machine learning, and cross-domain transfer systems. This role involves working in a mission-driven environment to develop and maintain advanced software solutions.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Work in a DevSecOps environment to ensure availability of biometric systems and data for end users.
• Lead integration, maintenance, and monitoring of software systems to ensure constant availability of technical resources.
• Design, implement, and enhance complex software systems including processing-intensive analytics, real-time systems, and business management information systems.
• Collaborate with Systems Engineers, Software Engineers, Architects, and Operations teams to develop enterprise Automated Facial Extraction and Matching (AFEM) capabilities.
• Participate in test, staging, and production deployments ensuring system reliability and performance.
• Develop and maintain software applications using C#.
• Implement API development, ETL processes, and enterprise search capabilities such as Elasticsearch.
• Utilize DevOps tools like GitLab or Jenkins for continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) practices.
• Monitor automated system integration tests and resolve system abnormalities.
• Foster collaboration within the team to deliver high-quality solutions to customers.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree with 8+ years of relevant experience or Master's Degree with 6+ years of relevant experience. Additional years of experience may be substituted for a degree.
• Proficiency in C# programming and API development.
• Knowledge of SQL Server, ETL processes, and application-level security.
• Hands-on experience with microservices and logging systems.

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with biometric systems and SDKs.
• Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and DevOps tools.
• Experience with AWS cloud-based architecture and services like Lambda.
• Experience with GPU processing using CUDA, PyTorch, etc.
• Knowledge of GraphQL, Python, Bash, Apache NiFi, and Kafka.
• Active certifications such as Security+ or CE.
• Proficiency with Linux server management and tools optimized for cross-platform environments.
