Job summary

Ameris Bank is seeking a seasoned IT professional to analyze, design, develop, test, and support software applications across the bank's enterprise environment. You will define requirements, propose solutions, estimate costs, and train users while collaborating with internal and external customers.

The role requires strong coding expertise in Python, JavaScript, Java or .NET/C#, plus troubleshooting and deployment scripting. A bachelor’s degree and 6+ years of relevant experience are expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• 6+ years of experience in progressively complex IT roles within an enterprise environment.
• Working knowledge of ITIL v3 framework (certification preferred).

Responsibilities

• Analyzes and defines software requirements to determine specifications and standards.
• Proposes software solutions.
• Determines the cost of new and modified systems, and engages in the proposal process.
• Develops, designs, and edits original applications, or modifies third-party applications.
• Tests and approves applications.
• Trains users, and writes training manuals.
• Manages user support and feedback.
• May specialize in one or more areas of development, including network, operating systems, databases, or applications.
• Troubleshoots cloud issues/failures and resolves alerts and performs remediation activities.
• Develop sound and trusted relationships with internal and external customers by providing accurate and efficient technical/engineering support and updates.

Essential Functions, Duties, and Responsibilities:

• Develop sound and trusted relationships with internal and external customers by providing accurate and efficient technical/engineering support and updates.
• Professionally represent security interactions with internal and external customers and business partners as required.
• Keep technically current with the industry standards with a strong ability to perform IT research about new technologies.
• Employ exceptional problem-solving skills, with the ability to see and solve issues before they affect business productivity.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Competencies:

• Advanced proficiency in a modern programming language, such as Python, JavaScript, Java, .NET/C#.
• Managing, monitoring, configuring, and troubleshooting.
• Specific demonstrated experience mapping business processes and comparing those processes to industry best practices.
• Proficiency in scripting of deployments.
• Demonstrated experience in a Development or Systems Engineer

Preferred Knowledge and Skills:

• Demonstrated project management experience.
• Working knowledge of ITIL v3 framework (certification preferred).
• Ability to self-manage and prioritize multiple projects with aggressive due dates.
• Excellent understanding of network, system and application security.

Industry and Work Experience:

• 6+ years of experience in progressively complex IT technical roles within an enterprise environment.

Academic:

• Bachelor’s Degree required.
