Job summary

efood in the Delivery Hero Group is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the Engineering team and help deliver a seamless, personalized ordering experience for millions of users.

You will work in an agile environment with Product Owners, Developers and DevOps to build reliable, scalable microservices, review code and explore new frameworks and technologies. Strong knowledge of Go/Java/Python and REST APIs is valued.

Qualifications

• University degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent.
• At least 5 years of experience in microservices development.
• Strong knowledge of Go/Java/Python and REST API development.
• Experience with relational and non-relational databases.
• Familiarity with SOLID and software design patterns.
• Excellent communication in English.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality software handling hundreds of thousands of requests per minute.
• Investigate new technologies and strategies to improve scalability and speed.
• Collaborate with Product Owners, Developers, DevOps and tech leads in an agile team.
• Participate in code reviews and follow modern development methodologies.

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our Engineering team and help us deliver a seamless and personalized ordering experience for our users. We do that by providing them with the necessary intuitive technologies through creating a wide range of software solutions.

What you 'll do:

Deliver high quality software responsible for serving hundreds of thousands of requests per minute.

Investigate new technologies and strategies to help our services scale to larger data sets and quicker speeds into the future.

Work closely with Product Owners, Developers, DevOps engineers and Tech leads as part of an agile team, to build reliable systems and exceed stakeholders expectations.

Participate in code reviews.

Practice modern software development methodologies and agile processes.

Experiment with new frameworks and technologies and learn continuously.

Qualifications

University and/or Postgraduate Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent.

At least 5 years of working experience in microservices development.

Excellent knowledge on any mainstream programming language (such as Go, Java, Python, C++, C# etcr). Any relevant experience on Go or python will be considered a plus.

Knowledge of relational and non-relational database systems (e.g. MongoDB, Redis, Postgres).

Familiarity with SOLID principles and software design patterns.

Experience consuming and developing REST APIs.

Excellent eye for detail and a self-motivated problem solver.

Superior analytical skills and a strong sense of urgency and ownership in your work.

Ability to get up to speed with new systems and concepts quickly.

Keen to constantly learn and improve your own skills, and not afraid to jump into new things.

Strong communication and collaboration skills (English is a must).

Nice to have:

Familiarity with at least one major cloud services provider (experience with AWS is a plus).

Experience working in an Agile team.

Involvement with open source projects is a plus.
