BI&A (Boeing Intelligence & Analytics) in the Washington, DC area is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to design, develop, and maintain full-stack applications. You will work with React, TypeScript, Node.js, Java, Python, PostgreSQL, Docker, and OpenShift to deliver reliable, scalable solutions.

Qualifications

• 13+ years of experience in Software or Systems Engineering or a closely related field.

• TS/SCI with CI Polygraph Clearance.
• Strong proficiency in React and TypeScript including hooks and API integration.
• Experience with Node.js/TypeScript for backend services and REST APIs.

• Hands-on experience with Docker and OpenShift.
• Experience with security, reliability, and performance.

Responsibilities

Senior Software Engineer

Why This is an Exciting Role:

As a Senior Full Stack Developer with BI&A you will be supporting an IC Customer working on mission driven applications. Candidates in this role will:

• Design, develop, and maintain full stack applications using React, TypeScript, Node.js, Java, Python, and PostgreSQL.
• Build reusable React components and manage application state and asynchronous workflows using Redux.
• Develop and maintain backend services and REST APIs, including request validation, error handling, and authentication and authorization integration.
• Use Pydantic for data validation and SQLAlchemy for database access and object-relational mapping in Python services.
• Design and maintain PostgreSQL schemas, queries, indexes, and database migrations, with attention to performance and data integrity.
• Build and maintain Docker images and deploy, configure, and troubleshoot applications in OpenShift.
• Investigate and resolve production issues across the user interface, backend services, database, and application deployment.
• Work with customers, product owners, and other stakeholders to clarify requirements, identify dependencies, and estimate implementation effort.
• Participate in technical design and code reviews, write automated tests, and maintain technical documentation.
• Mentor developers and collaborate with operations and security teams to support reliable application delivery.

Experience and Qualifications:

To be eligible for this demanding position, the ideal candidate should demonstrate the following experience and qualifications:

Required Education and Years of Experience:

• 13 Years of experience in Software or Systems Engineering roles or a highly related field of work with similar scope and responsibilities.
• A Bachelor’s degree may be substituted for 4 years of experience and a Master’s Degree may be substituted for 6 years of experience.

Required Qualifications:

• TS/SCI with CI Polygraph Clearance
• Strong proficiency in React and TypeScript, including functional components, hooks, reusable component design, and API integration.
• Strong experience developing backend services and REST APIs using Node.js and TypeScript.
• Experience developing and maintaining backend applications and services using Java and Python.
• Proficiency with PostgreSQL, including relational data modeling, SQL, schema migrations, indexing, and query optimization.
• Hands-on experience with Docker, including writing Dockerfiles, building images, and troubleshooting containers.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to translate business and customer needs into clear technical requirements

Desired Qualifications:

• Experience with Redux Toolkit, Typescript, ReactJs, Python, Java & Nodejs.
• Familiarity with Software development within Department of War.
• Familiarity with Linux environments and Kubernetes concepts.
• Experience configuring CI/CD pipelines and automating application deployments.
• Experience improving application security, accessibility, performance, and reliability.
• Experience working in an Agile development environment and coordinating with product, operations, and security teams.

Telework/Remote Availability: Hybrid work authorized (minimum 2-3 days onsite)

Summary Pay Range:

Please note that the information shown below is a general guideline only. Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

$159,200 - $211,400
