Description du poste

Amazon Traffic Engineering builds innovative managed compute and networking solutions that empower Amazon Software Engineers to build and operate services for Amazon's customers that are secure, highly available, and easy to scale. We identify and support the foundational infrastructure capabilities, tools, and datasets needed to support rapid global expansion of Amazon's SOA (Service Oriented Infrastructure) infrastructure, built on top of AWS technologies. Our team focuses on robust and scalable architecture patterns and engineering best practices, driving adoption of ever-evolving AWS technologies.

As a Senior Manager, you will own SDO's service oriented connectivity architecture, builder experience and regional expansion at Amazon. Our team builds and operates innovative hosted compute platforms that empower Amazon's retail engineers to build architectures for their business solutions that are secure, available, productive, and cost efficient.

This position requires direct experience leading teams and managing large deliverables to run Amazon-scale infrastructure. Your role will be multifaceted, combining strategic vision with hands-on technical expertise. You'll shape the long-term technical roadmap and set ambitious goals to drive performance improvements that benefit our customers. A key aspect of your role will be fostering a thriving engineering community, aligning organizational leaders on priorities, and optimizing resource allocation to achieve critical objectives. Your technical acumen will be put to the test as you identify architectural bottlenecks, develop proof-of-concepts, and guide senior engineers in crafting robust technical solutions. You'll be instrumental in streamlining delivery timelines through strategic engineering plans. Communication will be crucial as you keep senior leadership informed, navigate risks, and make judicious technical trade-offs to maximize customer impact. Your commitment to quality will be evident in your meticulous focus on metrics, implementation of automation to reduce operational burden, and emphasis on scalable tools to address operational challenges. This quality-first mindset will inspire and permeate throughout your team.

Our vision is to make Amazon's Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) more manageable and developers more productive by building an ecosystem of managed abstractions that allow Amazon Retail developers to focus on their unique business logic and business operations, knowing that security, authentication, authorization, load balancing, throttling and routing "just work" and are always consistent with Amazon best practices.

Come help us create and evolve the abstractions that make developing software at Amazon even more flexible!
