Job summary

Amazon is seeking a Senior Software Development Engineer for the PreStart Domain in Boston, MA. You will help onboard millions of new workers annually by building scalable, highly available systems that power onboarding experiences for a global workforce.

You will design and implement distributed services, lead architecture reviews, mentor engineers, and collaborate with product and UX teams to deliver robust Day 1 onboarding across regions.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of non‑internship professional software development experience.
  • 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience.
  • 5+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience.
  • Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team.
  • 5+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.

The Prestart Domain team is the core of the end to end Joining Amazon experience, responsible for 100% global hiring traffic from various recruiting sources. All subsequent onboarding and HR processes depend on the HR profiles and related data Prestart systems ingest into the HR system. IT is core to the success of the Joining Amazon journey as well as the employee journey.

Key job responsibilities

Basic Qualifications
