Amazon Kuiper Manufacturing Enterprises LLC is seeking a Senior Software Development Engineer to help design and build manufacturing software for satellites, ground equipment, and ASICs. You will work across software, hardware, RF, and embedded domains to orchestrate production lines and ensure secure, scalable systems.

You will collaborate with manufacturing and product engineering teams to deliver end-to-end capabilities for satellite manufacturing orchestration and data-driven decision making.

Manufacturing Software Systems (MSS) is seeking a Senior Software Development Engineer who will help solve a variety of technical challenges related to manufacturing satellites, ground equipment, and associated ASICs. You will play an active role in accelerating the manufacturing of satellites to quickly build the Amazon Satellite Constellation. You will tackle challenging, novel situations and will have the opportunity to work with multiple technical teams spanning a variety of domains: software, hardware, networks, RF, embedded, real-time, distributed, as well as industrial automation systems.

You will design and develop manufacturing software to drive the assembly, calibration, testing, and provisioning of satellites. You will collaborate with teams from manufacturing engineering, product engineering, and security engineering to identify requirements and design manufacturing software. You will design and develop the end-to-end system capabilities required for manufacturing orchestration across factory production lines.

Key job responsibilities

A day in the life

In this role as Senior Software Development Engineer, you will be actively engaged in developing Kuiper’s secure manufacturing software system and orchestration software capabilities. These products enable industrial automation for the manufacturing of the Kuiper satellite fleet and supporting ground equipment. You will engage with an experienced cross-disciplinary team to develop, qualify, produce, and deploy solutions and products enabling Kuiper’s global network.

About The Team

In this role as a Senior Software Development Engineer, you will be actively engaged in developing Kuiper's secure manufacturing software system and orchestration software capabilities. These products enable industrial automation for the manufacturing of the Kuiper satellite fleet and its supporting ground equipment. Basic Qualifications

• 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
• 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience
• 5+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
• Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team

Preferred Qualifications

• 5+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
