Job summary

Halliburton is seeking a Senior Software Development Engineer / Lead (Fullstack) in Houston to design, implement and secure scalable web applications using Angular, Node.js and cloud-native tech. You will build RESTful microservices, mentor juniors, and drive best practices across Agile teams while guiding product goals.

Ideal candidates have 7+ years in software development, a BS in CS, hands-on Angular/Node.js/HTML5/CSS, Docker, Kubernetes, SQL/NoSQL, and cloud experience (Azure/AWS).

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related discipline is mandatory.
• Minimum 7+ years of software development experience.
• Minimum 3+ years with Angular, Node.js, HTML5 and CSS/SASS.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, microservices, API integration and system design.
• Knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, SQL Server, MongoDB).
• Familiarity with Azure or AWS and cloud-native architectures.

Job Duties

Under broad direction, designs, codes, tests, troubleshoots and documents engineering systems applications. Develops test strategies used in the automated regression testing of these systems. Follows secure coding practices, performs triaging of security issues, and implements fixes to deliver secure applications. Familiar with common software vulnerabilities and leading practices to mitigate. Works on large scale, complex projects. Proactively identifies areas for improvement within the software system and development processes and proposes new solutions. Develops assignments and schedules. Job tasks, correctly performed, impact indirectly on cost containment, efficiency, profitability or operations. Requires completion of an undergraduate degree in Computer Science or similar discipline, and a minimum of 7 years of related experience, including software development experience.

• Experience with containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes), microservices architecture, API integration and system design is required.
• Knowledge of both SQL and NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, SQL Server, MongoDB) is required.
• Familiarity with C# or Python is preferred.
• Exposure to Agile methodologies and cloud platforms (Azure/AWS).
• Excellent communication, problem‑solving, and mentoring abilities.
• Oil & Gas domain experience is a plus.

Technical Expertise

• Frontend: Angular (v12–16+ required), TypeScript, HTML5, CSS/SASS.
• Backend: Node.js (required), C# or Python (preferred), Express, RESTful APIs.
