Job summary

insightsoftware seeks an experienced SDET to design, develop, and own scalable test automation across UI, API, and integrations. You will collaborate with product owners, developers, and BAs to translate requirements into robust test strategies and drive end-to-end automation for assigned squads.

You will migrate legacy suites, mentor teammates, and advance QA practices with modern tooling and AI-assisted testing.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in test automation / SDET roles.
• Strong programming in TS/JS or Java.
• Expertise with Playwright, Selenium/Selenide.
• Experience with Jenkins or GitHub Actions CI/CD.
• API testing experience (REST).
• Experience with Agile/Scrum.
• Strong debugging and browser tools.
• Excellent written and verbal communication for cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable UI, API, and integration test automation frameworks (Playwright/TypeScript, Selenium, or equivalent).
• Collaborate with product owners, developers, and BAs to translate requirements/acceptance criteria into test strategies.
• Own end-to-end test automation for assigned squads/modules, meeting coverage targets (e.g., 80%+).
• Build and maintain CI/CD test pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions) with reports and flaky-test triage.
• Perform root-cause analysis on defects and document known issues for stakeholders.
• Migrate legacy automation suites to modern frameworks (Playwright/TypeScript).
• Drive Definition of Ready/Done, Three-Amigos, and support sprint planning from QA lens.
• Mentor SDETs/QA engineers on automation patterns and debugging techniques.
• Contribute to test case design (positive, negative, edge, regression).
• Evaluate and integrate AI-assisted testing tools to improve efficiency.

Job Description:

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable UI, API, and integration test automation frameworks (Playwright/TypeScript, Selenium, or equivalent)
• Collaborate with product owners, developers, and BAs to translate requirements/acceptance criteria into comprehensive test strategies
• Own end-to-end test automation for assigned squads/modules, ensuring coverage targets (e.g., 80%+) are met
• Build and maintain CI/CD test pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions) including execution reporting and flaky-test triage
• Perform root-cause analysis on defects and platform issues, documenting known issues clearly for stakeholders
• Migrate legacy automation suites (e.g., Selenium/Java) to modern frameworks (Playwright/TypeScript)
• Drive Definition of Ready/Done adherence, participate in Three-Amigos sessions, and support sprint planning from a QA lens
• Mentor SDETs/QA engineers on automation design patterns, page object models, and debugging techniques
• Contribute to test case design (positive, negative, edge, regression) for complex functional areas
• Evaluate and integrate AI-assisted testing tools/workflows (e.g., MCP-based validation, Copilot for test generation) to improve efficiency

Required Qualifications:

• 7+ years of hands‑on experience in test automation / SDET roles
• Strong programming skills in TypeScript/JavaScript or Java
• Deep expertise with Playwright, Selenium/Selenide, or similar automation frameworks
• Experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitHub Actions) and version control (Git)
• Solid understanding of API testing (REST, Postman/RestAssured or similar)
• Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies
• Strong debugging skills (XPath, DOM inspection, browser dev tools)
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for cross‑functional collaboration

Preferred Qualifications:

• Strong Test Automation skills using playwright with TypeScript/JavaScript or Java
• Experience in developing automation framework
• Familiarity with accessibility testing
• Exposure to AI tools or prompt engineering for test generation
• Experience with performance testing tools (k6, JMeter)
• Jira/Confluence proficiency for test case management and documentation
