Job summary

Oracle Health Infrastructure and Platform Services is seeking engineers to build and operate cloud-native, AI-first platform services. This hands-on role requires strong operational experience, sound judgment in regulated environments, and the ability to turn manual operational work into safe, repeatable runbooks.

The position sits onsite in Nashville, Austin, or Kansas City and involves partnering with SREs, security/compliance, and backend teams to deliver reliable, scalable cloud solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
• 5+ years of engineering, application development, or related experience.
• Proficient with Java or similar OO languages.
• Experience building automated and AI-first solutions.
• Proficient with data structures, algorithms, OS concepts.
• Experience with distributed systems, HA, messaging, and CAP.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills.
• Experience operating production systems with change management, runbooks, audits, and security controls.

• Design, develop, test, deploy, and operate modern, cloud-native, AI-first platform services
• Partner with SREs, release managers, security/compliance owners, backend/database teams, and support escalation teams to drive safe operational outcomes.
• Define configuration and implementation best practices
• Specify, design, and implement changes to existing software architecture to meet changing needs.
• Provide technical leadership to other software developers.
• Work across teams to engineer the best system (for operations and customers) regardless of organizational boundaries or ownership.
• Scale our systems by building tooling and automation.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field
• 5+ years of experience in engineering, application development or related field or equivalent experience
• Demonstrated ability to write code in Java or similar OO languages
• Experience building automated and AI-first solutions
• Proficient with data structures, algorithms, operating systems.
• Experience with distributed systems: familiarity with CAP theorem, Consensus, messaging, High Availability etc.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills
• Experience operating production systems with change management, incident management, runbooks, approvals, audit/evidence, and security controls.
