Job summary

Two Six Technologies in Arlington, VA, is seeking a Senior Software Developer to join the data team maintaining internal data migration tools and collaborating closely with engineers to own components of these tools. The role requires a self-starter with a passion for learning and a track record of working with data.

The position is full-time, on-site at our Arlington office with core hours 9am–3pm, Monday through Friday.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience in software engineering.
• Minimum 1 year of experience with Python.
• Minimum 3 years of experience working with data in relational databases.
• Experience developing in a Unix environment.
• DoD 8570 Level II or Level III Certification encouraged.

Responsibilities

• Work with stakeholders to translate complex data needs into technical solutions.
• Maintain, support and enhance existing data systems and platforms.
• Collaborate with field engineers to debug and troubleshoot production issues.
• Provide after-hours support for scheduled deployments.
• Provide estimates for technical deliverables to Program and Product Managers.
• Guide teammates with technical and functional mentorship as needed.

Two Six Technologies is seeking a Senior Software Developer to work on multi-domain platforms serving critical national security functions. In this role, you will be a part of the data team that is responsible for maintaining several internally-developed data migration tools. You will work closely with developers that have experience with these tools to learn, and ultimately own, aspects of those tools. The ideal candidate for this position will be a self-starter that has a passion for learning and a history of working very closely with data. This is a full-time position, on-site at our TST Arlington office with core business hours between 9am and 3pm, Monday-Friday.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with internal and external stakeholders to develop requirements and solutions to complex data needs
• Provide ongoing maintenance, support and enhancements to existing systems and platforms
• Work directly with engineers in the field to debug and troubleshoot production issues
• Provide occasional after-hours support for scheduled production deployments
• Provide Program and Product Managers with reliable time and effort estimates for technical deliverables
• Provide technical and functional guidance and support to other team members as needed

Minimum Qualifications

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in software engineering
• Minimum of 1 years of experience with Python
• Minimum of 3 years of experience working with data in relational databases
• Experience developing in a Unix environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Postgres, Docker, Kubernetes, Bash scripting
• Experience working with agentic AI agents
• Experience with event-driven processing, message brokers, or real-time data architectures
• Experience using Git and Jira in a development workflow
• Experience with DevOps processes
• Experience creating data models in relational databases
• Experience working in an agile environment
• Experience with data migrations
• DoD 8570 Level II or Level III Certification; for example, Comptia Security + or CISSP
• Top Secret security clearance or ability to obtain #LI-MS1

Salary is one component of our total compensation package and the specific salary offered is determined by various factors, including, but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills, geographic location, as well as contract specific affordability and organizational requirements.

Salary Range $125,000 — $180,000 USD
