Fortinet, Inc. is seeking a Staff Software Dev QA Engineer for the FortiADC team to design and execute robust test plans for networking products.

You will implement automated tests, develop scalable test environments, and drive release readiness through rigorous QA practices. Candidates should have 8+ years in network QA, strong scripting (Python, Shell), Robot Framework, Linux/Unix proficiency, and experience with traffic generation tools and cloud platforms.

Competenze

• Bachelor's degree or higher in computer science, engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• 8+ years of experience in network product QA testing.
• Strong scripting and automation experience across test pipelines.
• Experience with network protocols: TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP, SSL, OSPF, BGP.
• Hands-on with traffic generation/benchmarking tools.
• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, Azure.
• Proficiency with Linux/Unix and CI/CD tools.
• Experience with Jenkins, Ansible and Terraform is a plus.

The software development QA developer need to work with the developer team to deliver high quality of the Fortinet's product, and also responsible for building high effective automation test process to complete most of test work.

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and execute comprehensive test plans and test cases across all stages of the product development lifecycle.
• Perform both manual and automated testing for networking and load balancing features.
• Build and maintain realistic test environments, simulating diverse device types and network conditions.
• Develop and maintain scalable network simulation frameworks for performance and scalability testing using various protocols and tools.
• Conduct detailed root cause analysis and provide actionable insights to improve product performance and reliability.
• Collaborate closely with developers and QA team members to identify, reproduce, and resolve issues.
• Integrate new tools, techniques, and best practices into the QA process to enhance testing efficiency and coverage.
• Identify and document product risks, and contribute to release readiness decisions.
• Work alongside Development and TAC engineers to reproduce and analyze customer-reported issues.
• The QA Developer must be a quick learner,must be able to work efficiently and effectively, to identify defect and risk that should be addressed during development test and for release readiness.

Requirements:

• Minimum 8+ years ofexperience in network product QA testing.
• In-depth understanding of networking protocols such as TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP, SSL, OSPF, and BGP.
• Strong experience with test automation using Python, Shell scripting, and ideally Robot Framework.
• Proficiency with Linux/Unix operating systems.
• Hands-on experience with traffic generation and benchmarking tools such as Avalanche, Ixia, JMeter, or equivalent.
• Experience in API testing and writing automated test scripts for unit and integration testing.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail.
• Strong problem solving and debugging skills with meticulous attention to detail and with a diligent mindset.
• Solid understanding of QA methodologies, testing types, and best practices.
• Experience with private cloud, such as VMware ESXI, KVM and etc.
• Experience with public cloud, such as AWS, GCP, Azure and etc.
• Experience with tools like Jenkins, Ansible, and Terraform is a plus.

Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.

Education:

Bachelor degree or above in computer science, engineering, or a related technical discipline

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $112,000-$137,000. Fortinet offers employees a variety of benefits, including medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance, 401(k), 11 paid holidays, vacation time, and sick time as well as a comprehensive leave program.

Wage ranges are based on various factors including the labor market, job type, and job level. Exact salary offers will be determined by factors such as the candidate's subject knowledge, skill level, qualifications, experience, and geographic location.

All roles are eligible to participate in the Fortinet equity program, Bonus eligibility is reviewed at time of hire and annually at the Company’s discretion.
