Job summary

Trident Systems in Fairfax, VA seeks a Principal Software Technical Lead to guide software development for an aerial surveillance system supporting a DoD customer. You will provide technical leadership for teams interfacing with sensors, video, imagery, and hardware devices, using Java and external integrations.

The role requires a DoD Secret clearance, strong leadership, and a track record of delivering mission-critical software across the lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/CE or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 9 years of professional software development.
• Ability to obtain a U.S. DoD Secret security clearance.
• Proficient in Java and full software lifecycle.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership for software development lifecycle.
• Lead architecture, design, and implementation for integrated systems.
• Mentor engineers and coordinate with cross-functional teams.
• Analyze requirements and decompose into software tasks.
• Participate in design reviews, PMO reporting, and risk mitigation.
• Collaborate with customers for discussions, demos, and deployments.
• Maintain technical documentation.
