Job summary

ARKA Group L.P. is seeking a Software Architect/Principal Software Engineer to provide technical leadership for government system architectures.

You will define how systems are implemented, coordinate with ARKA and sub-contractors, and guide a distributed engineering team to deliver mission-critical software. The role requires leadership across 30+ developers, strong customer focus, and proactive risk management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related technical field.
• 10+ years of professional software development experience.
• Experience as a Chief/Associate Chief Architect or equivalent technical leadership role.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor engineering teams across the full SDLC to ensure program and technical success.
• Drive DevOps adoption including CI/CD, IaC, and automated testing.
• Define cloud-native/distributed system architecture (microservices, event-driven).
• Govern engineering quality, performance, scalability, and resilience.
• Communicate architectural risks and status to leadership and customer in real time.
