Kitware is seeking a Software Engineer to design scalable software frameworks for cutting-edge computer vision research. You will contribute to open-source projects and collaborate with customers across embedded, desktop, and cloud environments.

The role emphasizes leadership in code reviews, integration of third‑party libraries, and advancing topics in vision, ML, and AI while supporting distributed processing and performance optimization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science with 5+ years of experience or Master's with 3+ years.
• Significant C++ experience.
• Python experience.
• Experience integrating 3rd party libraries.
• Experience with distributed processing/computing.
• Experience designing and implementing complex software systems.
• Leadership experience reviewing and overseeing code development.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement large-scale software frameworks for research algorithms across embedded, desktop, cloud.
• Lead in maintaining high-quality open source software on GitHub/GitLab.
• Learn and apply emerging topics in computer vision, ML, and AI.
