Job description

FinQuery stands at the forefront of accounting automation, driven by a deep specialty in contract‑driven accounting. Our AI‑enabled platform transforms how controllers and finance teams operate, seamlessly managing and accounting for the complex financial contracts—like leases, prepaids, and accruals—that are the backbone of modern business. We are not just a software provider; we are the unified subledger that eliminates time‑intensive, error‑prone technical accounting workflows, ensuring financial reports are accurate and empowering our customers to focus on strategic, high‑value tasks.

FinQuery is the global leader in lease accounting (as recognized on G2.com) and serve more than 8,500 customers worldwide. Our growth trajectory has been consistently validated by the Inc 5000, which has recognized us as one of the fastest‑growing private companies for five consecutive years.

Solve the Problems That Matter Most

The Senior Software Architect is a senior technical leader who guides the direction of software development, oversees the design and implementation of complex systems, and mentors other engineers. This role translates business needs into technical solutions, ensures high‑quality software, and drives innovation within the engineering team, including advancing the team's use of agentic AI tools to enhance development efficiency. The Senior Software Architect leads the technical vision for at least one product line and provides ongoing direction and feedback across teams to advance that vision, while remaining a direct, ongoing contributor to code.

  • Establishes quality standards and drives system design decisions that prevent defects, leading material improvements that eliminate recurring classes of problems
  • Serves as the team's expert resource on AI‑driven development practices and LLM usage, advocating for and driving adoption of AI‑assisted development tools across the engineering organization
  • Leads participation in the full development life cycle, including requirements gathering, analysis, and design, taking ownership of significant components
  • Evaluates business risk and customer impact to make strategic technical trade‑off decisions
  • Mentors engineers in technical decision‑making, including risk evaluation and trade‑off analysis
  • Proactively identifies and resolves complex problems, implementing sustainable solutions that prevent recurrence
  • Defines, communicates, and owns architectural decisions, including tenancy models, service boundaries, performance and cost tradeoffs, extensibility, and safe upgrade paths, to meet current and future needs for scaling, performance, security, and reliability
  • Identifies and implements process improvements across the engineering organization
  • Creates and reviews system designs, applying appropriate architectural patterns, idioms, and data structures
  • Takes full ownership of assigned work and team deliverable quality, including advancing test automation strategy and implementation, and is highly accountable for how software performs in production

  • Contributes directly to code on an ongoing basis using approved AI‑assisted development tools
  • Leads post‑acquisition technical integration efforts, including data migration planning, security assessments, and compliance evaluation
  • Partners regularly with Product, Professional Services, and Sales to align technical execution with business and customer requirements
