Job summary

The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs is looking for a qualified incumbent to perform specialized treatment for complex mental illness. Responsibilities include consultation and mentorship to staff and students, evaluating treatment effectiveness, and managing multiple programs.

Work schedule is from Monday to Friday, 08:00am to 04:30pm, with potential after-hours work needed for program management. This role includes participation in the Education Debt Reduction Program for student loan reimbursement.

• Demonstrates the ability to teach and mentor staff and students.
• Reviews, monitors, analyzes, plans, and assesses various programs.
• Must prioritize and meet multiple deadlines.
• Work schedule is Monday - Friday, 08:00am - 04:30pm.

Summary

This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP) - a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific eligibility requirements per VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Program Approval - award amount (up to $200 -000) & eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after review of the EDRP application.

• Incumbent incorporates complex multiple causation in differential diagnosis and treatment of Veteran patients
• Develops and implements methods for measuring effectiveness of practice and services in specialty areas - utilizing outcome evaluations to improve treatment services
• Offers consultation to colleagues and students on the psychosocial treatment of patients treated in specialty areas - rendering professional opinions based on experience and expertise and role modeling effective practice skills
• Demonstrates the ability to teach and mentor staff and students in the special area of practice and to provide supervision for licensure or specialty certifications
• Performs work related to the review - monitoring - analysis - planning and assessment of various programs
• Incumbent must possess the ability to organize work - set priorities - meet multiple deadlines - and evaluate assigned program area(s)
• Work Schedule: Monday - Friday - 08:00am - 04:30pm (although must be amenable to work outside normal tour of duty as a manager/supervisor to address emergent needs of Veterans/programs/facility Telework: Ad-Hoc/Situational Virtual: This is not a virtual position
