Job summary

US-Department-of-Veterans-Affair is seeking a Senior Social Worker (GS-12) in California. This role requires an advanced practice licensed social worker with a CSWE-accredited MSW and at least two years of post-licensure experience, including one year at GS-11.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Social Work from a CSWE-accredited program.
• Licensed or certified by a state at the advanced practice level.
• Two years of post-advanced practice experience, with at least one year at GS-11 level.
• Ability to provide supervision for licensure.
• Experience in assessing, documenting abuse, neglect, exploitation, or intimate partner violence.

Responsibilities

• Assess and document identified behaviors or symptoms of abuse, neglect, exploitation and/or intimate partner violence; use of clinical social work skills.
• Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality per policies and directives.
• Advocate with community service providers and agencies to serve the patient and family.
• Independently assess psychosocial functioning and needs of patients and families, identifying strengths and coping skills.
• Provide specialized consultation and contribute to policy/procedure development in the service area.
