Job summary

U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VHA) seeks a Senior Social Worker in the GS-0185 series with a focus on advanced social work practice and supervision.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in social work from CSWE-accredited program.
• Must be licensed or certified to independently practice social work.
• English language proficiency required for appointment.
• Experience with advanced practice in social work.
• Two years post-advanced practice experience; GS-11 level equivalent or higher.

Responsibilities

• Provide individual, group, and family counseling or psychotherapy.
• Incorporate complex multiple causation in differential diagnosis and treatment.
• Develop and implement methods to measure effectiveness of social work practice and services.
• Provide specialized consultation to colleagues and students on psychosocial treatment.
