Job summary

AMERICAN SYSTEMS seeks a SOC Analyst II to provide tier II cybersecurity in a Security Operations Center environment. You will regularly assess vulnerabilities, analyze threats, monitor email gateways, and produce reports on confirmed or suspected activities while collaborating with Tier I/II staff.

You will lead incidents from detection to resolution, leverage threat intel, review logs, and coordinate with engineering or forensics as needed.

Qualifications

• U.S. citizen per 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(2)(C).
• Active Dept. of War Top Secret clearance required.
• 3+ years in incident detection/response, malware analysis, or cyber forensics; bachelor’s degree in a related field.
• One certification per DoD 8570.01-M and DoD 8140.01, IAT Level II or higher.
• At least one of: CASP+/GCIH/AZ-500/SC-200/Splunk Core Certified Advanced Power User.
• Experience with security methodologies, SOPs, processes, and large-scale log data analysis.

Responsibilities

• Use intrusion detection technologies to identify host and network intrusions.
• Create, update, and resolve incident tickets; document alerts/incidents in ticketing system.
• Review asset discovery and vulnerability assessment data.
• Lead incidents from alert to resolution and coordinate remediation.
• Inform CSOC management and senior leaders on incident status.
• Review trouble tickets and share threat intel with stakeholders.
