Job summary

A software development company is seeking an experienced Data Management Specialist responsible for developing, overseeing, and analyzing data systems. This role requires a minimum of 8-10 years of experience in data solutions, along with expertise in Snowflake, SQL, Python, and orchestration tools like Airflow and Informatica. The ideal candidate should have strong problem-solving skills and a collaborative approach. This is a contract position based in New Jersey with a mid-senior level of seniority.

Qualifications

• 8-10 years of experience designing and development of data solutions in enterprise environments.
• 5+ years’ experience on Snowflake Platform.
• Strong hands-on experience with SQL and Python development.
• Experience with designing and development of data warehouses in Snowflake.
• Minimum three years of experience in developing production-ready data ingestion and processing pipelines using Spark, Scala.
• Strong hands-on experience with Orchestration Tools e.g. Airflow, Informatica, Automic.
• Good understanding of Metadata and data lineage.
• Hands-on knowledge of SQL Analytical functions.
• Strong knowledge and hands-on experience in Shell scripting, Java scripting.
• Demonstrated experience with software engineering practices including CI/CD, Automated testing, and Performance Engineering.
• Good understanding and exposure to Git, Confluence, and Jira.
• Good problem solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Team player, collaborative approach and excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop, oversee, organize, store, and analyze data and data systems.
• Participate in all aspects of the software development lifecycle for Snowflake solutions.
• Work in tandem with the engineering team to identify and implement optimal solutions.
• Ensure platform performance, uptime, and scalability while maintaining high code quality standards.
• Troubleshoot incidents, identify root causes, fix and document problems, and implement preventive measures.
• Manage deliverables in fast-paced environments.
