CGI Group, Inc. in Minneapolis is seeking a Senior Snowflake Data and AI Engineer for a billable client‑facing engagement. You will design scalable data pipelines and governance strategies on the Snowflake AI Data Cloud, focusing on secure, efficient ELT and AI‑powered data applications.

You will work with Snowflake Cortex AI, Cortex Search, and Cortex Analyst, leveraging Snowpark and dbt to deliver governed data insights for diverse data sets in a consulting context.

Qualificações

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of data engineering experience, including 3+ years hands‑on with Snowflake.
• Advanced SQL development with performance tuning; strong Python and Snowpark experience preferred.
• Hands‑on experience with Snowflake pipeline capabilities: Dynamic Tables, Streams, Tasks, Snowpipe/Snowpipe Streaming, Openflow.
• Experience with AI-powered data tools and Cortex family is a plus.
• Consulting or client-facing experience with strong communication skills.

Responsabilidades

• Design scalable incremental data pipelines using Snowflake features like Dynamic Tables, Streams, Tasks, Snowpipe Streaming, and Openflow.
• Develop and optimize ELT workloads with Snowpark, dbt Projects, and SQL.
• Build AI-powered data apps using Cortex AISQL functions, Cortex Search, and Cortex Analyst for diverse data forms.
• Use Snowflake Cortex Code to accelerate SQL/Python development, debugging and optimization.
• Implement governance and security: RBAC, row-level security, dynamic data masking, and tagging.
• Performance tuning and cost optimization across warehouses and ingestion; migrate client workloads to Snowflake.
• Provide technical mentorship and code reviews for client and internal teams.

Senior Snowflake Data and AI Engineer role in a billable, client-facing consulting engagement in Minneapolis, focused on building governed AI and data solutions on the Snowflake AI Data Cloud.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement scalable incremental data pipelines using Snowflake features such as Dynamic Tables, Streams, Tasks, Snowpipe Streaming, and Openflow.
• Develop and optimize ELT workflows with Snowpark, dbt Projects on Snowflake, and SQL, emphasizing declarative, serverless transformations.
• Build AI-powered data applications using Cortex AISQL functions, Cortex Search, and Cortex Analyst to work with structured, unstructured, and multimodal data.
• Use Snowflake Cortex Code to accelerate development, debugging, and optimization for SQL and Python.
• Implement data governance and security, including role-based access control, row-level security, dynamic data masking, and tags.
• Perform performance tuning and cost optimization across queries, warehouses, and ingestion; support migration of client workloads into Snowflake.
• Provide technical mentorship and code reviews; serve as a trusted advisor to client and internal teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of data engineering experience, including 3+ years hands‑on with Snowflake.
• Advanced SQL development with strong performance tuning; strong proficiency in Python and Snowpark experience strongly preferred.
• Hands‑on experience with modern Snowflake pipeline capabilities: Dynamic Tables, Streams and Tasks, Snowpipe and Snowpipe Streaming, and Openflow or comparable tooling.
• Practical experience with Snowflake Cortex AI, including Cortex AISQL functions, Cortex Search, or Cortex Analyst, or demonstrated ability to rapidly build LLM and RAG solutions.
• Experience using AI-assisted development tools to accelerate engineering work.
• Experience with ELT and transformation tooling such as dbt, Matillion, Informatica, or Talend.
• Solid understanding of at least one cloud platform: AWS, Azure, or GCP, plus strong data modeling skills.
• Consulting or client-facing experience with excellent communication skills.
