Job summary

Northwestern Medical Center is seeking a Pulmonologist to provide comprehensive sleep medicine services and coverage for outpatient and inpatient pulmonology and sleep lab. You will evaluate and manage sleep disorders, interpret home sleep studies, and oversee PAP therapy with a multidisciplinary team.

The role includes pulmonary duties, outpatient consultations, and participation in inpatient services, with emphasis on growth of sleep services and access to care in a rural community setting.

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school. Completion of accredited residency training in Internal Medicine.
• Completion of accredited Pulmonary Medicine fellowship. Board Certified or Board Eligible in Pulmonary Diseases.
• Board Certified or fellowship training in Sleep Medicine.
• Eligible for VT medical licensure.
• DEA registration and ability to obtain hospital privileges.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and manage sleep disorders, including obstructive sleep apnea, central sleep apnea, insomnia, hypersomnia, and circadian rhythm disorders.
• Interpret home sleep studies and polysomnography results.
• Manage PAP therapy and longitudinal sleep medicine follow-up.
• Collaborate with sleep technologists, respiratory therapists, and referring providers.
• Assist with growth and development of Northwestern Medical Center's sleep services program.
• Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients with acute and chronic pulmonary diseases including COPD, asthma, and interstitial lung disease.
• Provide outpatient pulmonary consultations and follow-up care.
• Perform and interpret pulmonary function testing.
• Collaborate with hospitalists, emergency medicine providers, primary care physicians, respiratory therapists, and specialists.
• Participate in inpatient pulmonary consultative services as needed.
• Support development of evidence-based pulmonary care pathways and quality initiatives.
