Job summary

Reddit is seeking a Senior Reliability Engineer to lead the reliability of user-facing systems and services, ensuring availability, performance, and operational excellence at scale.

You will partner with product and infrastructure teams to design highly available architectures, implement SLOs, incident response, and automation, and mentor engineers to raise the operational bar across the organization.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in Site Reliability Engineering, Infrastructure Engineering, or related roles operating large scale distributed systems.
• Strong collaboration and communication with influence over technical direction.
• Experience supporting high traffic, user facing production environments.
• Deep understanding of distributed systems, networking, Linux, cloud native architectures.

Responsibilities

• Lead Reliability Engineering for user facing systems and services.
• Drive reliability, scalability, and operational excellence across APIs, content delivery, feed generation, search and real-time experiences.
• Architect for scale with high availability and performance under massive global load.
• Reduce operational risk and drive proactive mitigation strategies to decrease incidents.
• Drive automation to improve deployment safety, incident response, and remediation workflows.
• Lead complex incident response, drive blameless postmortems, and implement long-term fixes.
• Define and champion reliability practices, SLIs/SLOs, capacity management, and release engineering.
• Mentor engineers to raise the operational excellence bar across the organization.
