Job summary

Fivetran is seeking a high-performance Site Reliability Engineer to join our team and build the future of Data Platform Reliability. You will own production reliability, monitor performance, and drive scalable deployments across cloud providers.

You will collaborate with engineering, product, and security to improve incident response, automate deployments, and ensure robust uptime. Experience with Kubernetes, cloud platforms, and PostgreSQL is essential for success in this role at scale.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience with SaaS platforms at scale.
• Expertise in managed Kubernetes (EKS, AKS, GKE).
• Experience with cloud platforms AWS, Azure, GCP and tooling (Terraform, Ansible, Buildkite, Pulumi, ArgoCD).
• Programming in Python, Go, and Shell; Java a plus.
• Experience with Linux internals and administration.
• Experience with cloud networking (Managed NAT Gateways, VPNs, Private Service Connect).
• Experience with PostgreSQL databases.

Responsibilities

• Monitor availability, capacity and throughput of production infrastructure.
• Collaborate with engineering to embed reliability into roadmaps.
• Assist in prioritizing and resolving critical bugs from support or sales.
• Automate deployments for scalable, reliable infrastructure.
• Ensure deployments to all environments via automation scripts.
• Work with security to address vulnerabilities.

About the Role

Fivetran is looking for a high-performance engineer to join a team of Site Reliability Engineers. You will be working closely with engineering teams, product managers, and support and sales engineers to build the future of Fivetran Data Platform Reliability.

As a member of the Site Reliability Engineering team, you will take ownership of the overall performance and reliability of Fivetran’s infrastructure, the robustness of the deployment pipeline, as well as timely and effective incident response and resolution. You will take responsibility for the growth and stability of Fivetran’s infrastructure, and be a key player driving effective incident response and overall issue avoidance.

Technologies You’ll Use

• Managed Kubernetes, GCP, AWS, Azure Cloud platforms, and Temporal Cloud platform
• ArgoCD, Terraform, Pulumi, Grafana, Buildkite, PostgreSQL
• Python, Go, Java, Bash/Shell Scripting

What You’ll Do

• Responsible for the ongoing reliability and robustness of Fivetran’s production infrastructure by monitoring availability, capacity, and throughput.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to integrate reliability best practices into the product roadmap
• Support the prioritization and resolution of critical bugs identified by support or sales.
• Contribute to maintaining the high reliability and availability of production infrastructure by collaborating with engineering to implement automation for scalable deployments
• Ensure scalable artifacts deployment to all environments through automation scripts
• Proactively monitor infrastructure vulnerabilities and collaborate with the security team to promptly address them.

Skills We’re Looking For

• 7+ years of experience working with SaaS platforms at scale
• Expertise in managed Kubernetes (EKS, AKS, and GKE)
• Knowledge of Cloud Platforms and related tooling: AWS, Azure, GCP, Terraform, Ansible, Buildkite, Pulumi, and ArgoCD
• Experience in Python, Shell scripting, and Go. Bonus if you have Java
• Experience with Linux operating systems, internals, and administration
• Experience with cloud networking like Managed NAT Gateways, VPNs, Privatelinks, and Private Service Connect (GCP)
• Experience with databases such as PostgreSQL
