Kenco Logistics in Indiana seeks a Sr Site Operations Manager to plan, direct and optimize the distribution operation at a site with 150+ associates, applying the Kenco Operating System (KOS/Shingo) to maximize efficiency and profitability while maintaining safety and compliance.

The role leads site teams, tracks KPIs and P&L, and drives continuous improvement through lean initiatives, coaching, and customer collaboration across the network.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in a related field or equivalent years of experience required.
• 7-10 years of experience in warehouse/distribution or transportation management required.

Responsibilities

• Lead activities of site personnel to ensure compliance with operating system, policy and SOPs.
• Develop reports for customer and leadership on KPI, BI and P&L.
• Provide coaching and mentoring to site management.
• Promote lean culture with 5S, Gemba walks, Kaizen events, and employee involvement.

Join a company where your contributions help move the world forward—one shipment at a time.About the PositionThe Sr Site Operations Manager plans, directs, coordinates and implements all distribution policies/procedures for the distribution operation at a dedicated site with more than 150+ Operations Associates*. In conjunction with these responsibilities, the leader will lead in accordance with Kenco’s Guiding Principles and operate the facility using the Kenco Operating System (KOS / Shingo) methodology to obtain optimum efficiency and economy of operations, while maximizing profits by performing the following duties or through delegation to subordinates.FunctionsLead activities of site personnel to ensure compliance with defined operating system, corporate policy and site standard operating procedures, personnel policies and workload leveling.Maintain all safety, operations, quality, financial, legal and regulatory functions executed on site.Develop strong relationships with customer for the site to ensure continued success and satisfactory relationship with customer.Responsible for site metrics associated with Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), Business Improvement Plans, Efficiency Programs, and Profit and Loss (P&L) and develop reports for the customer and leadership.Ensures communication and feedback for site and customer relations, including management review.Provide coaching and mentoring to site management and personnel in support of bench strength to ensure sustainability of the business and facility.Responsible for supporting a healthy and effective “Lean Culture” participating in and leading 5S, Gemba walks, A3’s, Kaizen events, Employee Suggestion Boards, etc. daily, weekly, or as necessary to promote continuous improvement to the benefit of our customer. May support other site implementations with the network.Analysis of operations on a continuing basis to make necessary improvements to ensure cross functional operating efficiencies in the warehouse. Analyzes throughput information, capacity planning, flow through and financial information.Acts as site purchase order gatekeeper to record, monitor, and control all site expenses in conjunction with network leaders.May function as the sites HR administrator in partnership with network HR support.Depending on functions of the customer/site; perform driver load planning/routing, common carrier utilization and monitors all DOT and hours of service compliance for drivers.May perform necessary product inspections, functionality checks and other duties.QualificationsBachelor degree in a related field or related required or equivalent years of experience required. Equivalent years of experience is defined as one year of professional experience for each year of college requested.7-10 years of experience in warehouse/distribution or transportation management required.Prior leadership experience required.Must have a solid transportation background and an understanding of efficient transportation principles.Experience using warehouse, transportation, and inventory management systems preferred.Advanced level technical skills utilizing MS Office (i.e. Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, & Word).CompetenciesBusiness Acumen - Knowledgeable in current and possible future policies, practices, trends, technology, and information affecting his/her business and organization.Communicate for Impact - Proactively communicate with all stakeholders throughout the life cycle of programs and projects.Influencing Others - Can quickly find common ground and can solve problems for the good of the organization with a minimal amount of noise.
