Job summary

Goodwin Recruiting is helping a precision manufacturing client find an Operations Manager for one of their aerospace-grade facilities in Wheeling, IL. This senior on-site leadership role drives safety, quality, delivery, cost and people outcomes in an AS9100 Rev D and ITAR registered environment serving aerospace, defense, medical, semiconductor and transportation customers.

The ideal candidate is hands-on, has 8+ years in manufacturing operations leadership, with aerospace or regulated

Qualifications

• Eight+ years of progressive operations leadership in manufacturing.
• Experience in aerospace defense or regulated manufacturing preferred.
• Proven ability to lead multiple functions (production, quality, supply chain).
• Strong ERP/MRP experience.

Responsibilities

• Own full site performance across safety, quality, delivery, cost and people.
• Direct daily operations across machining, assembly and support functions to meet customer commitments.
• Lead and develop functional managers across production, quality, supply chain, engineering and maintenance.
• Drive on-time delivery and schedule adherence, recovery on jobs at risk using ERP and site reporting.
• Manage the site operating budget and drive efficiency, margin and cost performance.
• Maintain compliance with AS9100 Rev D, ITAR and export control requirements.
• Lead lean and continuous improvement across equipment uptime, throughput and lights out machining.
