Job summary

Google is seeking a Security Engineer in Sunnyvale, CA to protect Google Cloud infrastructure and silicon platforms. You will work with cross‑functional teams to design and verify secure silicon, assess vulnerabilities, and implement robust security controls across hardware and software boundaries.

You will collaborate on open source roots of trust projects like Caliptra and OpenTitan, apply threat modeling, and ensure compliance with security protocols while scaling security across the silicon

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 5 years of experience with security assessments or security design reviews or threat modeling.
• 5 years of experience with security engineering, computer and network security and security protocols.
• 5 years of coding experience in one or more general purpose languages.
• Experience with EDA tools and typical ASIC design and verification flows.

Responsibilities

• Work within a partnership across several companies with a dedicated focus on security silicon.
• Develop security architecture, silicon design and verification for open source silicon projects Caliptra and OpenTitan roots of trust.
• Oversee silicon design verification and EDA tool workflow maintenance in a code hosting platform open source context.
• Drive external silicon design verification work through vendors.
• Assess vulnerabilities in silicon root of trust designs.
