Job summary

Amphenol Communications Solutions (ACS), a division of Amphenol Corporation, seeks a Senior Signal Integrity Engineer in Nashua, NH. The position requires 7+ years in signal integrity, strong PCB/layout and measurement experience, and proficiency with HFSS, CST, HSPICE, MATLAB, and ADS.

Qualifications

• BS in Electrical Engineering; MS/PhD preferred.
• 7+ years of industry experience with electromagnetic principles for digital signal integrity.
• Experience with high-speed connectors in communications equipment is a plus.
• Experience with signal integrity measurements and debugging with TDR, VNA, pattern generators, error detectors and similar equipment.
• Experience with signal integrity and simulation/analysis tools such as Ansys HFSS, CST Microwave Studio, HSPICE, MatLab, and ADS.
• Hands-on frequency-domain and time-domain component and circuit characterization including test/calibration methods.

Responsibilities

• Design, simulation, characterization, and application of high-speed electrical connectors and cable-based interconnects.
• Develop components and support customers on new product introductions.
• Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team on next-generation high-speed I/O interconnect products.
• Identify and resolve signal integrity issues in PCB layouts and measurements.

Amphenol High Speed Products Group is the market leader for high speed, high bandwidth electrical connectors for the Telecom/Datacom market (Mobile Networks, Storage, Servers, Routers, Switches, etc.). Our products help to enable the electronics revolution and remain a key enabler for all the major Tier 1 OEMs globally. Our global headquarters are located in Nashua, NH and we have design, sales and manufacturing locations globally. We are currently seeking a Senior Signal Integrity Engineer with our HSIO Connectors Team. The position will be located in Nashua, NH.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Design, simulation, characterization, and application of high speed electrical connectors and cable-based interconnect
• Component development as well as customer support on new product introduction
• Contribute to an established team of dedicated signal integrity engineers and engineers of other disciplines
• Share knowledge and pursue continuous improvement in methods and workflows
• Collaborate multi-disciplinary teams in the development of next generation high speed I/O interconnect products
• Assist with providing solutions to customers across a wide range of sectors with their high speed data transmission requirements
• Support the internal Sales Engineers to develop strategies for product break-in at existing and new accounts based on signal integrity and electrical engineering expertise
• Identify and resolve signal Integrity issues in PCB layout
• Design, build, and measure circuit boards for the measurement and verification of products
• Apply circuit theory and high-speed digital transmission, PCB layout principles for high-speed digital design

QUALIFICATIONS

• BS in Electrical Engineering, MS/PhD in Electrical Engineering is preferred
• 7+ years of industry experience with an understanding of electro-magnetic principles for digital signal integrity
• Experience in component design and application of high speed connectors into communications equipment is a plus
• Experience with signal integrity measurements and debugging with TDR,VNA, pattern generators, error detectors and similar measurement equipment
• Experience with signal integrity and simulation/analysis tools such as Ansys HFSS and Designer, CST Microwave, HSPICE, MatLab, and ADS
• Hands-on experience with frequency-domain and time-domain component and circuit characterization including understanding of test and calibration methods
