Job summary

Sunstate Equipment Co. seeks a Shop Technician III in Phoenix, AZ. The role involves diagnosing, repairing, and servicing diesel and gas engines, hydraulic systems, and electrical components on construction equipment and fleet vehicles.

You will perform routine maintenance, manage records, and ensure work meets manufacturer specifications. Applicants should have at least 3 years of diesel mechanic experience and be proficient with Tier 4 engines, aftertreatment systems, and welding (MIG/SMAW).

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of experience as a diesel mechanic with heavy construction equipment or rental background.
• Advanced experience with repairs of hydraulic, electrical, pneumatic, and diesel/gas engines on construction equipment and delivery fleet.
• Experience with Tier 4 engines and aftertreatment systems (DPF/SCR/DEF/EGR) is highly preferred.
• Extensive experience with preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, diagnosing, and heavy equipment repairs.
• Must have necessary tools to perform the scope of repairs.
• Inspect, service, and test equipment to manufacturer specs.
• Understanding of schematics, computer diagnostic software, and welding methods.

Responsibilities

• Perform repairs on gas and diesel engines, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, and drivetrains on equipment and trucks.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose malfunctions and repair equipment.
• Perform novice level MIG/SMAW welding repairs.
• Inspect, service, and test equipment per manufacturer specs.
• Conduct routine service and lubrication of equipment.
• Maintain accurate records on maintenance and repairs, including warranty records.
