Job summary

SPS Corporation, a leader in Glass & ACM commercial construction, seeks a Shop Drawing Designer in Apex, NC. You will develop comprehensive shop drawing packages for curtain walls, metal panels, and related systems, coordinating with design and field teams to ensure accuracy and on-time delivery.

Required 5+ years in architectural/structural drafting, strong AutoCAD skills (2018–2026), and familiarity with Bluebeam Revu and Procore. Not a remote position; on-site collaboration is essential.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in architectural or structural drafting within the construction industry.
• Strong understanding of architectural drafting principles and construction documentation.
• Advanced AutoCAD skills (2018–2026) and familiarity with Bluebeam/Procore workflow.

Responsibilities

• Technical drafting: create detailed shop drawing sets with notes, schedules, plans, elevations, and sections for curtain walls, metal panels, IMP, and single-skin systems per SPS standards.
• Field coordination: adjust drawings using field dimensions and site data for accuracy and constructability.
• Plan interpretation: read and interpret architectural/structural plans to produce high-quality drawings.
• Collaboration: work with Design Manager, Project Managers, Executives, fabrication teams, and field staff to resolve design discrepancies.
• Communication: maintain clear professional communication with internal teams and external stakeholders.
• Production environment: perform in a fast-paced, high-volume drafting setting.
• Deadline management: ensure timely submittals and revisions aligned with project schedules.
