Qualifications

• Four years of commercial/naval experience as a first-class Shipfitter.
• Proficient in multi-pass tack welding and using oxygen/propane torches.
• Ability to comprehend complex structural drawings, blueprints, and weld symbols.
• Must pass pre-employment screenings including respirator physical, hair follicle drug screen and 7-year background check.

Responsibilities

• Perform tack welding per work packages and drawings.
• Erect, set and makeup shell plates, decks, bulkheads, and longitu­dinals.
• Install and replace hull inserts and penetrations per specifications.
• Work in a physically demanding shipbuilding environment with safety compliance.

Skills

First-class Shipfitter experience

Tack welding

Welding to weld symbols and drawings

Ability to read blueprints and complex

Tools

SMAW Welding (Shielded Metal Arc Welding)

Vibratory tools (grinders, needle guns)

Air Carbon Arc Gouging
