Job summary

The MIL Corporation is seeking a skilled Sheet Metal Technician III to support engineering, prototyping, fabrication, maintenance, and production operations at NAWCAD Webster Outlying Field (WOLF) in St. Inigoes, Maryland.

The role requires journeyman-level fabrication and the ability to read blueprints, engineering drawings, and specifications. This onsite position offers a compressed work schedule and opportunities to contribute to DoD and Navy programs while maintaining safety and quality

Qualifications

• Minimum of five years journeyman-level sheet-metal fabrication experience.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, manufacturing instructions, and technical documentation.
• Proficiency operating sheet-metal fabrication equipment such as press brakes, shears, rollers, punches, drills, and related shop machinery.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform duties involving standing, bending, kneeling, climbing, reaching, and working in confined or elevated areas.
• U.S. Citizenship required.

Responsibilities

• Plan, layout, fabricate, modify, install, and repair sheet-metal components, assemblies, and support structures from engineering drawings, sketches, blueprints, and technical specifications.
• Operate and maintain sheet-metal fabrication equipment including press brakes, shears, rollers, punches, saws, drill presses, laser cutters, waterjet systems, and other production machinery.
• Interpret engineering drawings, work orders, manufacturing instructions, and technical documentation to determine fabrication requirements.
• Conduct dimensional inspections and verify conformance to drawings, tolerances, and quality standards.
• Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior fabrication personnel when assigned.
