Job summary

Peraton in McLean seeks a Senior SETA to provide technical oversight and program management for vendors delivering complex solutions. The role requires sound systems engineering, assessment of vendor designs, and recommendations to improve mission success.

You will participate in TEMs, develop system requirements and SOWs, and assist with reviews (PDR/CDR). A TS/SCI clearance is required; travel is sporadic.

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI security clearance with relevant polygraph.
• Bachelor's degree in engineering, science, or related technical discipline with 8 years of experience, or a master's with 6 years of experience.
• Prior experience supporting in a customer-facing Systems Engineering and/or Systems Integration capacity.
• 5+ years of experience supporting the design and development of complex systems.
• 5+ years of specialized, relevant technical experience in systems engineering, systems development, and engineering design.
• 5+ years of experience with strategic technical development efforts for complex systems.
• Strong engineering background in chemical, mechanical, aerospace, electrical, or similar engineering fields.
• Desire and ability to work on multiple fast-paced projects.
• Self-starter who will take initiative for helping manage key parts of complex technical developments.
• Experience with Systems Integration work (writing technical requirements, evaluating design documentation, developing system flow charts, etc.).
• Motivated self-starter who excels in a dynamic environment.
• Strong organizational and communications skills across cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities

The SETA will assist with technical oversight and program management of vendors developing technical solutions. The SETA will be expected to utilize sound systems engineering skills to support the design, development, and deployment of technical solutions as well as provide recommendations to improve the probability of overall mission success. The SETA will provide technical assessments and determine the viability of technical approaches and designs proposed by vendors.

• Support technical exchange meetings (TEMs) with various stakeholders to ensure technical solutions achieve the desired outcome
• Provide independent assessment of technical feasibility and design approach of solutions proposed by vendors
• Provide sound engineering recommendations regarding current and future efforts to enhance overall utility and usability
• Identify and assess technical risks and provide potential mitigation approaches and recommendations
• Support the development and execution of program plans for strategic development efforts
• Develop strategies, plans, and procedures to fully test systems and evaluate their ability to meet requirements
• Support the development of process board documentation and briefing artefacts used to support oversight of efforts by leadership
• Maintain project plans for assigned projects
• Prepare, maintain, and assist with the preparation and maintenance of Statements of Work (SOW), System Requirements Specifications (SRSs), Interface Control Documents (ICDs), Concept of Operations (CONOPs), Requests for Change (RFCs), Test Plans, and all other project documents
• Attend and support CIR, PDR, CDR, monthly, and other reviews, document results of meetings, solicit and integrate comments providing recommendations

Target Salary Range

$135,000 - $216,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual's experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
