Job summary

Amneal Pharmaceuticals in New Jersey seeks a Senior Set-up Mechanic to own packaging line set-ups, changeovers, and troubleshooting. You will ensure safe, compliant operation of bottling and filling equipment, install change parts, adjust guides, and support line qualification IQ/OQ/PQ as required.

Qualifications

• Five or more years in manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, or maintenance repair.
• High School diploma or GED required.
• GMP and SOP guidelines; OSHA/FDA regulations knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Follow GMP and SOP guidelines and comply with safety/OSHA/FDA regulations.
• Provide emergency or unscheduled repairs on packaging equipment.
• Perform minor troubleshooting of electrical and mechanical issues.
• Install change parts and set up bottle unscrambler/capper equipment.
• Set up the label machine, induction seal machine, outsert machine, and cap torque meter.
• Assist maintenance staff with projects and line qualification IQ/OQ/PQ.
• Maintain inventory of spare parts for packaging equipment.
• Set the automatic cap rejection center for bottle sizes.

Description

The Senior Set-up Mechanic will serve as the subject matter expert for their packaging resource. Their daily duties include the set-up, changeover, troubleshooting, and efficient operation of packaging equipment while adhering to safety protocols. They are responsible for all specialized maintenance, repair, and reliability of their packaging and filling machinery, and will support other areas of the business as required or assigned.

Night Shift

12-hour per day rotating schedule (6:00 pm-6:30 am) – 3 days week 1 and 4 days week 2 of pay cycle. Requires every other weekend.

Essential Functions

• Follow GMP and SOP guidelines and comply with safety/OSHA/FDA regulations.
• Provide emergency or unscheduled repairs on packaging equipment.
• Perform minor troubleshooting of electrical and mechanical issues.
• Check with operations for packaging schedule and related changeovers.
• Inspect change parts for cleanliness and have them cleaned by the packaging operator if necessary.
• Install change parts and set up the bottle unscrambler/capper machine, adjusting guide rails for bottle size.
• Set up the slat counter and powder fillers and adjust parameters in HMI as required.
• Operate the label machine, induction seal machine, outsert machine, and cap torque meter as per the PBR.
• Assist maintenance staff with special projects or maintenance work.
• Assist operations with line qualification/equipment qualification IQ/OQ/PQ.
• Maintain inventory of fast-moving spare parts for packaging equipment.
• Knowledge of Track and Trace system on the label machine, 360 station, aggregation and pallet station.
• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance as required.
• Set the automatic cap rejection center for high/crooked and no-cap foil rejection as per bottle size.

Additional Responsibilities

• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education

• High School or GED – required.

Experience

• Five (5) years or more in manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, or maintenance repair.

Compensation and Benefits

The hourly rate ranges from $29.00 to $38.00 per hour. Salary will be determined based on qualifications, experience, geographic location, and other relevant factors. The position offers short-term incentive opportunities (bonus or performance-based award) and a long-term incentive award, such as restricted stock units, within the first 12 months.
