Job summary

Providence Health & Services is seeking a Senior Service Engineer to own and operate endpoint management platforms across Windows and macOS, including SCCM, Intune, and Jamf. You will partner with cross-functional teams to design, scale, and sustain dependable device management while ensuring platform health and automation.

Remote work is available for candidates within commuting distance of our primary offices; position requires a Bachelor’s in a related field and 5+ years in systems

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering or an equivalent combination of education and experience
• 5 years related experience in systems administration; more preferred
• Experience in automation, specifically related to deployment, recovery, or other manual processes
• Experience with n-tier solutions
• Experience with resilience modeling (failure mode analysis) and ability to simulate service outages for point solutions (automated) and platforms (manually)
• Experience influencing software engineering team members in translating customer and technical requirements into service architecture to meet Quality of Service Expectations
• Experience leading and representing the Service in backlog discussions and standups

Responsibilities

• Partner with endpoint engineering, service desk, application delivery, cybersecurity, and field support teams to design, scale, and operate services that manage devices across the organization
• Manage full lifecycle: platform health, infrastructure reliability, policy/configuration management, OS deployment, Autopilot, Jamf workflows, compliance reporting, and automation
• Set technical direction, mentor engineers, and shape the endpoint management roadmap for scalable device management and service performance

Service Engineers ensure caregivers have a fast, reliable, and frustrationfree digital experience by owning and operating our endpoint management platforms, including Microsoft Configuration Manager/SCCM, Microsoft Intune, and Jamf. In this role, you'll partner with endpoint engineering, service desk, application delivery, cybersecurity, and field support teams to design, scale, and operate the services that manage Windows and macOS devices across the organization. You'll own the full-service lifecycle, from platform health, infrastructure reliability, policy and configuration management, operating system deployment, Autopilot, Jamf workflows, compliance reporting, and automation, all while helping advance the organization toward secure, modern, and consistent endpoint operations.

When issues arise, you're the calm technical leader who uses platform data, logs, and operational telemetry to quickly identify root cause, restore service, and ensure the fix sticks through durable automation, improved monitoring, and clear standards. As a senior engineer, you'll set technical direction, mentor other engineers, and shape the endpoint management roadmap-defining what "good" looks like for scalable device management, secure configuration, deployment reliability, and service performance. Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering or an equivalent combination of education and experience
• 5 years related experience in systems administration; more preferred.
• Experience in automation, specifically related to deployment, recovery, or other manual processes.
• Experience with n-tier solutions.
• Experience with resilience modeling (failure mode analysis) and ability to simulate service outages for point solutions (automated) and platforms (manually).
• Experience influencing software engineering team members in translating customer and technical requirements into service architecture to meet Quality of Service Expectations.
• Experience leading and representing the Service in backlog discussions and standups

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in a Healthcare environment
• 5 or more years of Information Technology experience
• 3 or more years of experience administering Windows and MacOS management platforms (Intune, Microsoft Configuration Manager/SCCM, Jamf)
• Strong Experience with source code version control using Git/GitHub
• Strong PowerShell scripting skills for automation and systems management
