Job summary

Blacksmith Agency, a Phoenix-based boutique digital agency, seeks an experienced SEO Specialist to lead organic search for client and internal sites. You’ll own end-to-end strategies, perform audits, and collaborate with designers and developers to implement best-practice SEO across WordPress sites.

With 10+ years in agency SEO, you’ll drive rankings, traffic, and conversions while presenting clear findings to clients.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of hands-on SEO experience in an agency setting.
• Proven growth through SEO with first‑party data.
• Strong GA4 and Google Search Console skills.
• Experience across many industry sites with metadata, schema, redirects.
• Skilled in translating SEO insights for clients.
• Excellent remote communication and collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end SEO strategy for multiple clients, including technical, on-page, and off-page efforts.
• Conduct in-depth SEO audits, competitive gap analyses, and keyword opportunity mapping.
• Collaborate with designers and developers during strategy and build phases to ensure SEO is implemented cleanly.
• Create structured content strategies and recommendations to support UX and conversion goals.
• Manage and improve local SEO for clients with physical locations.
• Track rankings, crawl health, Core Web Vitals, and conversions using GA4 and Search Console.
• Present findings and recommendations clearly to clients with PM support.
• Run technical SEO audits using Screaming Frog and SEMrush, and summarize findings with prioritized actions.
• Implement on-page SEO updates in WordPress, including meta tags, headers, alt text, internal links, and schema markup.
• Conduct keyword research to identify targets for core pages, blog content, and campaigns.
• Create SEO briefs to guide writers on structure and keywords.
• Review draft content and optimize for SEO before publishing.
• Collaborate with developers to ensure crawlability and proper URL structure before launch.
• Set up SEO tools for new websites (GSC, GA4, tracking parameters).
• Generate monthly reports for clients highlighting wins and next steps.
• Research backlink opportunities through competitor analysis and digital PR partnerships.
