Job summary

WHOOP is seeking a Senior Sensor Intelligence Engineer to join the Embedded Controls team. You will develop signal-processing and ML algorithms for wearable sensor data and design intelligent on-device sensor control.

You will collaborate with Firmware, Electrical, Data Science, and Hardware teams to deploy robust, low-power sensing solutions on WHOOP devices and validate performance across users.

Qualifications

• BS, MS or PhD in a related technical field or equivalent practical experience.
• Strong foundation in digital signal processing and time-series analysis with real-world sensor data.
• Experience turning algorithms into embedded or real-time implementations.
• Proficiency in Python, MATLAB, and familiarity with C/C++ for embedded work.

Responsibilities

• Develop signal-processing and machine-learning algorithms for wearable sensor signals.
• Design intelligent embedded control strategies to configure sensor behavior.
• Characterize sensors by understanding signal behavior, noise, calibration, and interfaces.
• Prototype algorithms in Python or MATLAB and collaborate with Firmware Engineering for deployment.
• Work with Firmware, Electrical, Data Science, Hardware, and Sensor Intelligence teams to bring up new sensing modalities.
• Develop experiments and validation methodologies to evaluate performance across users.
