Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking a mid- to senior-level Sediment Remediation Scientist or Geologist to lead sediment remediation projects for federal and public sector clients. The role requires independent work and team leadership on complex sites.

Qualified candidates will have a Bachelor's degree and about 7 years of related experience, with travel as needed. This is a full-time position based in the United States, involving travel and collaboration with multi-disciplinary teams.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required; 7 years related experience; travel may be required.
  • Experience leading engineers/scientists on sediment remediation projects.
  • Familiarity with CERCLA, GLLA or other regulatory processes.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate sediment remediation technologies and design sediment remediation schemes for riverine, coastal and port sites.
  • Understand contaminant transport, site assessment, sampling/monitoring, cap modeling and dredge approaches.
  • Support mathematical/statistical evaluations of environmental data.
  • Serve as task manager, communicating technical strategy to clients and SMEs.
  • Lead other staff to prepare technically sound documents compliant with regs and policy.
  • Act as liaison with clients and outside consultants and communicate complex evaluations clearly.
