Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking a mid- to senior-level Sediment Remediation Scientist or Geologist to lead projects for federal and public sector clients. The role involves evaluating remediation technologies, designing sediment remediation plans, and leading engineers and scientists.

Strong communication and leadership are essential as you collaborate with clients and internal experts. Travel may be required, and a Bachelor's degree with related experience is mandatory.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree. 7 years of related experience.
  • Domestic and/or international travel may be required.
  • Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.

Responsibilities

  • Provide expertise evaluating sediment remediation technologies and design sediment remediation for riverine, coastal, riparian/floodplain, and port sites.
  • Understand sediment and contaminant transport, site assessment, sampling/monitoring, cap modeling, dredge approaches, remedial design and construction.
  • Support mathematical/statistical evaluations of environmental data sets.
  • Serve as task manager on components of sediment sites and communicate strategy to clients and SMEs.
  • Liaise with clients, the public, and outside consultants to convey complex technical evaluations.
  • Lead staff in preparing and reviewing technical information to ensure regulatory compliance.
