Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking a mid- to senior-level Sediment Remediation Engineer to lead projects for Federal and Public sector clients, with the ability to work independently and guide a project team.

You will evaluate remediation technologies, design sediment solutions for riverine, coastal, and floodplain settings, and communicate complex results to clients and stakeholders. Travel may be required and experience with CERCLA/regulatory processes is valued.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Environmental or Chemical Engineering or related discipline.
  • Professional engineering (PE) license.
  • 7 years of related experience. Domestic and/or international travel may be required.

Responsibilities

  • Providing expertise in evaluating sediment remediation technologies and designing sediment remediation solutions for riverine, coastal, riparian/floodplain, and/or port settings.
  • Understanding principles of sediment and contaminant transport, site assessment, sampling/monitoring, cap modeling, dredge approaches, remedial design and construction.
  • Providing support of mathematical/statistical evaluations of environmental data sets.
  • Serving as CDM Smith’s task manager on components of sediment sites and communicating technical strategy to clients.
