Job summary

Palo Alto Networks is seeking a highly skilled software engineer to design and develop device identity solutions and other security features for the next-generation firewalls.

As part of the Layer-7 Security group, you will work with product management on user requirements, translate them into functional designs, implement robust software, and collaborate with QA and field support through the full development lifecycle.

Qualifications

• B.S. degree in Computer Science or a similar technical discipline with 2+ years of relevant industry experience; MS/PhD preferred
• Proficient in C programming under Linux development environment
• Experience with multi-threaded programming and large-scale, distributed, high-performance software design
• Experience with TCP/IP networking software development
• Demonstrated willingness to leverage AI to maximize productivity
• Minimum 7 years professional experience in security or networking industry
• A proactive teammate who learns new technologies quickly

Responsibilities

• Innovate, design, develop and improve the Next-Generation Firewall functionality, including device identity solutions
• Own and be responsible for critical components in the Next-Generation Firewall system
