Job summary

Akamai Technologies, Inc. is seeking an API Security Sales Specialist in the United States to shape a region, target accounts, and contribute to go-to-market strategy. You will be a sales professional with an entrepreneurial spirit, responsible for the full-cycle process from qualification to close.

You will collaborate with a Sales Engineer, demonstrate Akamai's security solutions, and drive growth across commercial and enterprise segments with a focus on API security and cloud services.

Qualifications

• Experience in digital cybersecurity, API Security, API Gateway and Cloud Service Providers.
• Inside sales/phone selling experience in technology with evidence of success.
• Experience in channel first sales motions.
• History of exceeding individual sales goals and targets.
• Experience selling to commercial and/or enterprise accounts, navigating complex organizations.

Responsibilities

As an API Security Sales Specialist, you will be afforded a flexibility not often seen in sales. You will help shape a region, target accounts and contribute to the go-to-market strategy. In this high profile role, you will be sales professional with an entrepreneurial spirit.

As a Senior Security Sales Specialist, you will be responsible for:

• Managing the full-cycle sales process through qualification, needs analysis, product demonstration, Proof of concept (PoC), negotiation and close.

• Being accountable for your sales target and overachieving on that sales target.

• Building customer relationships and qualifying opportunities such that the sales forecast is accurate.

• Working closely with a Sales Engineer and ensuring their time is used optimally.

• Have experience in digital cybersecurity, API Security, API Gateway and Cloud Service Providers.

Compensation

Akamai is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. For US based candidates only - The On Target Earnings (OTE, base salary + commissions) for this position ranges from $245,000 - $441,000/year; a candidate's OTE is determined by various factors including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and location. Compensation for candidates outside the US will vary. The compensation package may also include equity awards and an Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP).
