Job summary

UL Research Institutes and UL Standards & Engagement seek a Sr Manager Security Operations & Engineering to lead security operations and engineering across ULRI and ULSE. You will oversee incident response, threat detection, vulnerability management, and security tooling, driving continuous improvement and executive-level risk insights.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s preferred.
• 7+ years in cybersecurity with 3+ years in security operations leadership.
• Hands-on experience with SIEM, EDR, MDR, vulnerability management, and cloud security platforms.
• Experience with Azure and AWS security settings.
• Knowledge of Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) and NIST SP800-171 v2 preferred.
• Strong leadership and executive communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and strengthen security operations and engineering for ULRI and ULSE, aligning with enterprise risk and resilience objectives.
• Own end-to-end security incident lifecycle, including detection, triage, containment, remediation, post-incident reviews, and executive reporting.
• Advance AI security monitoring, governance, and controls for enterprise data and AI use cases.
• Oversee vulnerability and exposure management, including scanning, prioritization, remediation, and reporting.
• Drive security tooling maturity (SIEM, EDR, MDR, CSPM, CNAPP, CSPs) and integrate with cloud platforms.
• Develop and mature security operations playbooks, runbooks, and standard operating procedures.
• Collaborate with Identity, Infrastructure, Application, Cloud, and Architecture teams to improve telemetry and visibility.
