Job summary

The City of Baltimore's Information Technology Security division seeks a skilled SOC Analyst to monitor, detect, and analyze cybersecurity threats against city infrastructure and data. You will work under guidance from senior analysts, coordinating with Vulnerability Management and network teams to ensure timely incident responses and adherence to CJIS, HIPAA, CIS Controls, and NIST frameworks.

This role emphasizes collaboration, documentation, and ongoing improvement of security monitoring

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a cybersecurity/IT field required.
• Two years of related IT experience preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience in government or regulated environments is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and analyze cybersecurity threats and events.
• Escalate complex or high-severity incidents to senior SOC staff.
• Collaborate with Vulnerability Management, network operations, and agency IT leads.
